The Sweet Life: SHUGAA dessert bar designed by Party/Space/Design
/SHUGGA, Bangkok's newest dessert bar, is beautifully outfitted with a sugar crystal inspired spiral staircase, rose gold light fixtures, and hand-carved wooden animal sculptures. Behind the sweet design is Bangkok-based design house Party / Space / Design (p/s/d), a team of creatives who have a reputation for creating dynamic, playful, and color-filled spaces.
The french style dessert bar is owned and run by a Thai chef who dreamed up a creative menu intended to delight and surprise. It was the chef's amazing dessert menu that inspired p/s/d's confection-like design.
The team of creatives dove into the science of sugar; breaking-it-down to a molecular level, where sugar crystals and their polygon formations led the design concept.
The dessert room is located on the first floor; a welcoming space with a soft color and material pallet. Hanging from the intricate triangle-shaped ceiling installation are a family of rose gold light fixtures that add an extra touch of luxe to the eatery. Pink upholstered bar stools sit in front of the shapely marble dessert bar, where hand-carved wooden animal sculptures are seen enjoying some desserts of their own. The ash wood spiral staircase is lined with transparent acrylic blocks, stacked to resemble the arrangement of sugar crystals. Upstairs is a private area that allows guests to snack on sweets while they work.
p/s/d's candied interior design concept delivers on the chef's philosophy to surprise, delight, and amaze by showcasing a luscious space that lends a unique experience.
