The form and function of some objects tend stay exactly the same, others evolve over time. While the functionality may see little change, the transformative power of an evolving object often tells a completely different story than its predecessor. Umbra Studio’s Roll/Truss/Cage Bottle Openers are here to tell a new story.

Umbra Studio is a Toronto-based collective, comprised of designers who are experimenting with new materials, techniques and processes; a platform for discovering ways of re-thinking everyday items. In this case, it was the typical bottle opener's turn to face an evolution. Anonymous in function and cast from solid brass, these bottle openers might find themselves on the vanity sooner than the kitchen drawer.

Easy on the hands, the cage bars of the cylinder, prism and square create multiple opportunities to quickly crack open a refreshing bottle of cider.
