Made in England: Inside the Closet of House of Hackney
/In a peculiar little shop on London’s Shoreditch High Street, across from the old Clerk’s House, is a house of fabrics that will leave you feeling foot-loose and fancy-free! Far from an ordinary house, this is the House of Hackney, an artistic mash-up of classic and modern British eclecticism.
House of Hackney was founded in London in 2010 by husband- and -wife team Javvy M Royle and Frieda Gormley. Originally founded as an interiors label, the founder's quest was 'to take the beige out of interiors' with an emphasis on quality, design and Made in England.
In the past few years, after their successful 2012 collaboration with US ready-to-wear label 'Opening Ceremony', HOH expanded into the fashion world. Thanks to Royle and Gormley, HOH’s fantastical prints are now the face of stunning silhouettes, finished with intricate details. Their collections encompass both womenswear and menswear, embodying a sense of spirited playfulness, original design and a colorful approach to everyday dressing, our range features iconic floral print tea dresses and cami's to our bold printed T-shirts and footwear.
