Abstract Nail Art: Paintbox NYC

Snapshot: Former Beauty Editor, Eleanor Langston, uses her years of industry experience to transform how you feel about nail care with New York's new Paintbox.

Elle Woods had it right—what always makes you feel better? A new, slick coat of paint on your nails, of course. Paintbox, located on Crosby Street in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City, offers its customers a glamorous manicure experience. This “high-design” nail studio is the perfect blend of fun, art and fashion. Founder, CEO, former beauty magazine editor, Eleanor Langston, uses her industry knowledge, editorial experience, and creative mindset to take nail care to another level.

Langston is a highly regarded figure in the beauty industry having worked at Cosmopolitan, Self, and Fitness magazines, her career spanning over a decade. Besides her extensive editorial work, she has appeared as an expert on The Today Show, Entertainment Tonight, and The Insider. Her love for color and acute eye for spotting trends helps Langston relate to her customers and provide them with innovative and refreshing manicure options.

Each season, Paintbox will offer a collection that combines popular runway trends with a chic, edgy NYC vibe curated by Langston. The nail studio will focus on the seasonal polishes and nail designs. Anything goes! From black and white polka-dot designs to color blocking with saturated colors. Metallics are featured as well as glitter designs and small stones ala Katy Perry or Rihanna.

Julie Kandalec, Creative Director of Paintbox, is the brain behind nail design development. The  manicurist's work has been featured in Vogue, Allure, and Vanity Fair in addition to working with designers Thom Browne, Herve Leger, and Helmut Lang on their fashion week shows.

With seasonal rotation of artistic nail designs, Kandalec, Langston and the nail artist over at Paintbox are determined to keep it fresh.
