New York’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week bolted into the city like a lightning rod last week, creating a fashion frenzy of new trends, styles, and patterns. We had the chance to experience Fashion Week up close and personal as we made our way in and out of the tents from one show to the next. Each show was unique in it’s own right, but there is one moment that most of the shows have in common. Near the end of the show, with the music still pumping, and the heads still on their horizontal pivot, a leggy model whips out from behind the stage with a stunning floor length gown. The power of this one garment is unmistakable! Heads quickly stop their pivot and stare straight onto the model, shimming down the catwalk, in a finely draped long gown. These gowns are made of the finest material and constructed with acute detailing; meant to be worn on red carpets, to galas, and balls.
