Super’s Limited Edition: The Golden State Sunglasses

October 22nd, 2012SUPER recently launched a new project called “SUPER moves to” during Milano’s Salone del Mobile. The traveling project is featured in select stores around the world which hosts limited editions of SUPER sunglasses. SUPER’s traveling project has left Milan and will be opening its doors with Conveyor at Fred Segal in Los Angeles. The project will boast the most complete selection of Super eyewear, exclusive limited edition products as well as a direct expression of the aesthetic and entity of the brand. But you might need to get over there quick because the shop will be open for a very limited time, running from October 17th until November 17th.
Conveyor and SUPER created a special and limited series of sunglasses: The Golden State. The selected Italian tortoise acetates are crafted into three of SUPER’s best selling silhouettes: The Flat Top, the Ciccio and the Classic. The sturdy frames mount Carl Zeiss’ multilayer gold lenses, featuring rock hard treatment and anti-scratch reinforcement to guarantee top of the notch protection from the California sun. The arms are characterized with a black matte finish to ensure a smooth and comfortable fit; and to complete the picture, each piece is personalized with the project inscriptions and a bones brigade inspired cross decor, placed meticulously on the inside of the arms. The collection will be sold exclusively at Conveyor at Fred Segal, 420 Broadway 90401 Santa Monica, California.

MYKITA SUNGLASSES REACH NEW HEIGHTS

Mykita has recently been awarded the prestigious Good Design Award 2010. It’s no surprise to the design community that the rising eye wear company would be bestowed such a great honor,  they push boundaries with the design of their metal injection molded frames, and they open up and collaborate with wild designer such as Bernhard Willhelm and Romain Kremer.

Mykita Sunglasses

Mykita was founded in 2003 by Harald Gottschling, Daniel Haffmans, Philipp Haffmans, and Moritz Krueger. The team of young designers developed “a highly innovative functional design comprising simple plug connections made complex soldered joints and screw connections redundant, while the frames themselves were cut out of stainless sheet steel before being folded into form. As well as being incredibly light, the latter could be adjusted to the wearer thanks to a wide variety of configuration options.”

Because of their slick and sturdy designs, Mykita skyrocketed to eye wear fame and have been seen on the shinning faces of high fashion characters and entertainers throughout the past 7 years.
