The Brick House Loft, Singapore

Singapore based creative firm Farm has a belief! They believe that joyful creativity is essential in all our lives. This belief is what has led them to create the newly completed Brick Loft House in the charming Joo Chiat area of Singapore. The house was once an old dusty office, but it was the core of this belief that helped Farm see the potential in the space.

“We wanted to reinvent, with a localized design language, the concept of a chic industrial loft,” The architects explained. “From the onset, we knew the importance of bringing light and the sense of lightness to the space within.” To give the house more light the architects started to remove walls and create an open-space layout. Glass doors were introduced into the space to allow natural light to travel easier and louvers were added to the rooftop to bring in more light to the mezzanine bedroom.

In order to update the look of the space, a new custom-made pattern was created and introduced to the space via a laser-cute metal screen folding door. Farm took the same screen pattern and used it to create a cool white spiral staircase, then continued the design into the railing on the mezzanine. The result is a super stellar looking staircase which became a captivating design feature!
